Bourses to remain closed next week
The Dhaka Stock Exchange is planning to hold a meeting of its board of directors on Tuesday to decide and declare the emergency public holiday
The office of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) will remain closed over the next week, so will the bourses, M Saifur Rahman, Executive Director and the spokesperson at BSEC has confirmed to The Business Standard.
The government declared on Monday that the entire upcoming week will be public holidays to curb the spread of novel coronavirus.

We are also going to follow the government decision, said Mamun-Ur-Rashid, the managing director of the Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse.
"March 26 is general holiday and March 27 and 28 are weekly holidays. With these days, March 29 to April 2 will be public holidays," Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam announced on Monday.
He also urged people not to come out of their homes unless it is an emergency. The cabinet secretary also advised using adequate protective measures when using public transportation.
After the weekly holidays of April 3 and 4, markets will open on April 5. Prior to the public holidays, markets will remain open for two days -- March 24 and 25.
