President to award 19 firms for industrial development

President M Abdul Hamid will distribute the President's Award for Industrial Development 2018 to 19 industrial units, in six categories, for their contribution to the national economy. 

The Ministry of Industries published a list of the nominees yesterday. 

The award is given every year as per the President Industrial Development Award Instructions 2013.

Abdul Jalil, senior public relations officer of the industries ministry said, "The award will be handed over to the nominated firms at a formal ceremony in the capital soon."

The British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company will receive the first place award in the large industry category; while Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited, Energypac Engineering Limited, and Olympic Industries have been nominated for the second, third and fourth prizes, respectively, in this category. 

In the medium industry category, Tafrid Cotton Mills Limited has been nominated for first place. Sheltech Technology Limited, Apcotex Industries Limited, and Envoy Fashions Limited will receive the second, third and fourth prizes, respectively, in this category.

Concept Knitting Limited, APS Design Works, and Summit Oil and Shipping Company Limited will be awarded the first, second and third prizes respectively for the small industry category.

In the micro industry category, Trim Tex Bangladesh, Masco Overseas Limited, and Crimson Rosella Seafood Limited will receive the first, second and third prizes – respectively. 

Meanwhile, Classical Handmade Product BD Limited has been nominated for the first prize in the cottage industry category – it is followed by Intelligent Card Limited of Gazipur, and Rupkotha Jubo O Mohila Unnayan. 

Service Engine, Metatube Asia Limited have been nominated for the first and second prizes respectively in the high-tech industry category 

As rewards, each institution will receive a crest ‍and a certificate from the president.
