BCI to form separate fund for entrepreneur development
BCI President highlighted some potential sectors such as light engineering, agro-based industries, halal products, leather products which need to be the focus of the development

Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) will form a sperate fund to support entrepreneurship across the country, said the organisation's President Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury on Saturday.
He said, "BCI has already started work to create new entrepreneurs, to develop micro and small-scale industries, and to improve light engineering and agro-based industries. The organisation will work to create entrepreneurs across the country by taking the initiative to form a separate fund for entrepreneur development."
He made the remarks while chairing the first meeting of the BCI's board of directors for 2021-2023, held at its board room on Saturday, according to a press release.
BCI President highlighted some potential sectors such as light engineering, agro-based industries, halal products, leather products which need to be the focus of the development.
Vice President of BCI Preeti Chakraborty and Vice President Shahidul Islam Niru were present at the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, a minute of silence was observed on the occasion of 21 February, International Mother Language Day. All the agendas were later discussed in the meeting and were unanimously approved, read a press release.
Senior Vice President Priti Chakraborty in the meeting said that BCI being the only national industry chamber in Bangladesh, will work to remove all industry related obstacles under the leadership of the current BCI president. Vice-President Shahidul Islam Niru called upon everyone in the organization to expand cooperation to expedite the activities of BCI.
The meeting was attended by Jahangir Alam, Delwar Hossain Raja, Engineer Md Mohabbat Ullah, Rehana Rahman, Zia Haider Mithu, Yashoda Jiban Debnath, Shah Alam Litu, Shahid Alam, M A Razzak Khan, Ruslan Nasir, Md Khair Mia, Nazmul Anwar, Md Ishaqul Hossain, and other board members.
