Uncoordinated, improper handling of personal data could pose serious security risks to citizens: Taiyeb
Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb, today (16 January) said that the personal data of service seekers is a trust deposited with entrepreneurs, and any uncoordinated or improper handling of such data could pose serious security risks to citizens.
He made the remarks while addressing as the chief guest at an orientation and capacity-building training programme on "Nagorik Seba Bangladesh" at the Khulna District Shilpakala Academy auditorium this morning.
Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb said the government has launched the "Nagorik Seba Bangladesh" initiative to reduce public harassment and save citizens' time and labour.
Through this platform, people will be able to access various public services from a single interface, he added.
He said entrepreneurs across different regions of the country are being trained to ensure efficient service delivery.
Calling upon the entrepreneurs, he urged them to work with a mindset focused on earning public trust and confidence in citizen services.
The Special Assistant further said the government remains neutral regarding the national parliamentary election but supports a "Yes" vote in the referendum.
He urged citizens to vote 'Yes' in the referendum to build a welfare-oriented, equitable and discrimination-free country.
Deputy Commissioner A S M Zamshed Khondaker presided over the programme, while a2i Project Director Md Abdur Rafiq and Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) Sifat Mehnaz attended as special guests.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Kaniz Fatema Liza delivered the welcome address. a2i Head of Management Abdullah Al Fahim presented a concept paper on entrepreneurship.
Chief Technology Adviser Mohammad Masudur Rahman, Senior Consultant (Deputy Secretary) Fazlul Zahid Pavel and Head of Communication Mohammad Safiul Azam were also present at the event.
Nearly 500 entrepreneurs from Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira and Jashore districts participated in the training programme.
