Walton mold and die complex earns LEED platinum certification

Walton, the country's tech giant, received the LEED Platinum Certification from the USGBC for its eco-friendly Mold and Die Complex.
The certification recognizes Walton's highest-scoring sustainable design and construction practices, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and other eco-friendly features.
Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC Chairman S M Shamsul Alam and Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam received the certificate at a ceremony held at Walton Corporate Office in Dhaka on Wednesday (20 August). Senior officials from Walton and 360° Total Solution Ltd (360 TSL), which provided technical facilitation, were also present.
Shamsul Alam said, "We are very proud to achieve LEED Platinum certification. Our aim is to ensure a livable, environmentally friendly world for future generations. This recognition will further inspire us."
Mahbubul Alam said: "This achievement establishes the Walton Sustainability ZERO Program, setting benchmarks on zero carbon emissions, zero rainwater discharge, zero night light pollution, and zero heat island effect. This vision will align every project with global climate goals."
International green building expert Ananta Ahmed of 360 TSL added: "With this milestone, Walton has become a global sustainability leader, proving that manufacturing can be both productive and environmentally responsible."
Set up on 376,000 sft at Walton HQ in Chandra, Gazipur, the Mold and Die Complex features natural daylighting, advanced ventilation systems, a 2.16 MW rooftop solar plant, and a 100% rainwater harvesting and reuse system for zero discharge.
