Vice-Chancellor stresses innovation, values in education at AAUB meeting

The 18th Academic Council meeting of Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh (AAUB), was held on 16 October 2025 at the university's Dhaka campus conference room.
The meeting was chaired by Air Vice Marshal A K M Manirul Bahar, OSP, BSP, ndc, hdmc, afwc, psc, ADWC, Vice-Chancellor of the university.
At the outset, the Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for bestowing health, wisdom and ability upon all. He described the Academic Council as the university's intellectual hub, where key decisions on research, education and innovation are made.
Addressing the participants, he said the world is evolving rapidly, driven by technological advancement, global competition and the need for a knowledge-based culture. In response, AAUB must design academic programmes that integrate skills, values and mindset, guiding students towards both professional and personal excellence.
He informed the members that, following the 17th Academic Council meeting held on 11 August 2025, the curricula of various academic programmes had been updated and the scope for research-based education expanded. Several initiatives, including enhanced hands-on training opportunities, have already been implemented to strengthen academic quality and innovation.
Encouraging active participation and constructive feedback, the Vice-Chancellor emphasised that, with collective effort, the university will become a centre of excellence and a 'reflection of the goal of reaching the sky'.
The agenda items were then discussed in detail and key academic and administrative decisions were adopted. Representatives from the Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University (BMU) and Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) participated in the meeting, along with members of the AAUB Academic Council.
