United healthcare jolshiri cup golf tournament 2025 concludes

The United Healthcare Jolshiri Cup Golf Tournament 2025 took place from February 19 to 22 at Jolshiri Golf Club, bringing together golf enthusiasts for a spirited display of sportsmanship and competition. The tournament culminated in a spectacular closing ceremony on February 24, 2025.
The Chief Guest at the ceremony, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, psc, Chief of Bangladesh Army and Chief Patron of Jolshiri Golf Club, commended the club's efforts in fostering the sport and underscored the importance of collaboration between the healthcare and sports sectors in promoting well-being. He also encouraged initiatives to host more international-standard events in the future.
Major General Hasan-uz-Zaman, ndu, afwc, psc, M Phil, President of Jolshiri Golf Club, reflected on the club's journey and its significant role in developing Southeast Asia's largest driving range—an elite training ground for aspiring golfers.
Mr. Khondokar Moinul Ahsan Shamim, Advisor, United Group, and Chairman, United Insurance, emphasized the vital connection between sports and health. He highlighted United Healthcare's 18-year commitment to revolutionising Bangladesh's healthcare sector through cutting-edge medical services and technology-driven advancements.
The tournament, played in a stroke-play format, saw 492 participants, including 337 regular golfers, 85 senior golfers, 34 women, 13 veterans, and 2 junior golfers. A total of 18 prestigious trophies were awarded, including a rare Hole-in-One on Hole 6, marking a historic milestone for Jolshiri Golf Club.
The winner of the tournament was Commodore AKM Maruf Hasan, with the Best Gross award going to Lt Col Mohammad Sarwar Bin Kashem and the Runner-Up position claimed by Lt Col Babul Aktar (Retd). Brigadier General Kamrul Islam was awarded the Hole-in-One prize, marking a memorable achievement.
The prize-giving ceremony was graced by esteemed personalities, including General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Major General Hasan-uz-Zaman, Mr. Khondokar Moinul Ahsan Shamim, Mr. Moinuddin Hasan Rashid (Chairman & Managing Director, United Group), and Mr. Nizamuddin Hasan Rashid (Managing Director, United Healthcare), alongside senior officials from the Bangladesh Army, United Group, and other distinguished guests.
The event concluded with a vibrant cultural performance and an exciting raffle draw, creating a festive atmosphere for attendees.
