United Finance signs deal with SME Foundation for SME financing
United Finance PLC has deepened its support for the country's cottage, micro, small, and medium enterprises (CMSMEs) by forging a strategic agreement with SME Foundation to distribute revolving loans under the Credit Wholesale Scheme.
The formal signing ceremony took place in Dhaka, attended by Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Minister for Industry, Commerce, Textile, and Jute, as chief guest. Nurun Nahar, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, and Nasrin Fatema Awal, President of the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh, were present as special guests.
Md Obaidur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Chairperson of SME Foundation, chaired the event.
Mohammed Abul Ahsan, Acting Managing Director of United Finance, and Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, Managing Director of SME Foundation, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
United Finance has long partnered with SME Foundation and Bangladesh Bank on development initiatives. With 23 branches nationwide, the company continues to play a key role in expanding access to finance and supporting CMSMEs across Bangladesh.
