Unilever contributes Tk 8.63 crore to Worker's welfare foundation fund

Unilever Bangladesh Limited and Unilever Consumer Care Limited have jointly contributed Tk 8.63 crore (BDT 86,275,300) to the Bangladesh Workers Welfare Foundation Fund under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, fulfilling their statutory commitment to the Workers' Profit Participation Fund (WPPF).
Of the total contribution, Unilever Bangladesh Limited provided Tk 8.18 crore (BDT 81,777,100) while Unilever Consumer Care Limited contributed Tk 45 lakh (BDT 4,498,200).
The cheques were formally handed over to Brigadier General Shakhawat Hossain (Retd.), Adviser to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, and A.H.M. Shafiquzzaman, Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Representing Unilever Bangladesh Limited were Ruhul Quddus Khan, Director, Supply Chain; Syeda Durdana Kabir, Director, Human Resources; S.O.M. Rashedul Quayum, Legal Director & Company Secretary; and Shamima Akhter, Director, Corporate Affairs, Partnerships & Communications. From Unilever Consumer Care Limited, Managing Director Mohammad Naharul Islam Molla handed over the cheque. Senior officials from both companies were also present.
