UIU- AI Forum train LankaBangla officials on practical ai for finance
The Institute of Research, Innovation, Incubation, and Commercialisation (IRIIC) of United International University (UIU), in collaboration with AI Forum Bangladesh, organised a two-day training programme titled "AI Essentials for Capital Market Professionals." The session concluded yesterday at the UIU Innovation Hub.
Marking the country's first real-life AI training for capital market professionals, the programme was attended by 30 officials from LankaBangla Securities PLC. It aimed to equip participants with practical AI skills applicable to financial operations, risk management, trade execution, and strategic decision-making.
Senior officials of LankaBangla Securities, including Managing Director Mohammed Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, CEO Khandoker Saffat Reza, CTO S.A.R. Md. Muinul Islam, Senior General Manager Mohammad Amir Hossain, and AGM Md. Jahangir Hossain, attended the training along with team members from management, digital transformation, accounts and finance, institutional and foreign trade, risk management, operations, trade execution, branch operations, and capital market research.
Professor Khondaker A Mamun, PhD, Director of the MSCSE Programme and IRIIC at UIU, Founder of AI Forum Bangladesh, and a leading AI expert, conducted the sessions. The training included hands-on exercises, interactive discussions, and practical demonstrations on applying AI-driven solutions to real-world capital market scenarios.
The initiative also fostered cross-functional collaboration, enabling participants to address operational challenges and explore AI integration into daily workflows. It reflects the commitment of IRIIC, UIU, and AI Forum Bangladesh to advance professional capacity in emerging technologies, strengthen industry–academia collaboration, and promote innovation in Bangladesh's financial sector.
