UCB expands network with Mirzapur branch inauguration
United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has inaugurated a new branch in Mirzapur, Tangail, as part of its expansion of banking services across the country.
The bank said the branch will provide modern, fast and reliable banking services to local customers.
The branch was inaugurated by Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid, managing director and CEO of UCB. Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui, member of parliament for Tangail-7 (Mirzapur), attended as chief guest. Obaidur Rahman FCA, chairman of UCB's audit committee, and local dignitaries, business leaders and bank officials were also present.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid said UCB was pleased to open a branch in Mirzapur, citing the area's historical and cultural significance. He mentioned institutions such as Kumudini Hospital, Bharateswari Homes and Mirzapur Cadet College, and expressed hope that the branch would strengthen the local economy and improve access to financial services.
He said the bank aims to expand modern banking services nationwide and that customers at the Mirzapur branch will be able to access services including deposits, loans, remittances and digital banking facilities.
