AIBL launches 10-day iftar distribution programme in Dhaka
Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC has launched a 10-day iftar distribution programme for fasting people on the streets during Ramadan.
The programme was inaugurated on Sunday, 1 March 2026, by Managing Director and CEO Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan at the bank's head office.
Speaking at the event, Khan said Ramadan promotes self-purification, restraint and compassion, and that supporting underprivileged fasting people reflects those values. He said the bank has undertaken the 10-day initiative as part of its efforts to stand beside marginalised communities.
Deputy managing directors Md Fazlur Rahman, Md Asaduzzaman Bhuiyan, Md Aminul Islam Bhuiyan, Mohammed Hossain and S M Abu Jafar were also present.
The bank said it will distribute iftar daily to commuters, street children, rickshaw pullers and other low-income groups at key locations in Dhaka, with the programme to be rolled out in phases across different parts of the city.
Al-Arafah Islami Bank said it also runs programmes in education, health, disaster response and humanitarian support as part of its corporate social responsibility activities.
