Trust Bank joins SME Foundation credit scheme for CMSMES
Trust Bank PLC has entered into an agreement with the SME Foundation to provide revolving loans under the Credit Wholesale Scheme, aiming to increase access to finance for cottage, micro, small, and medium enterprises (CMSMEs) in Bangladesh.
The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony in Dhaka, attended by Industries Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir as the chief guest. Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar and WEAB President Nasrin Fatema Awal joined as special guests. Md Obaidur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Chairperson of SME Foundation, presided over the event.
At the event, Hasna Hena Chowdhury, Acting Managing Director and CEO of Trust Bank, and Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, Managing Director of SME Foundation, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Under the scheme, loans ranging from Tk1 lakh to Tk25 lakh will be provided at a concessional interest rate of 8 per cent, with a focus on grassroots entrepreneurs and underserved segments.
