TEDx Rajshahi University debuts with "Unleashing Potential"

On Sunday, February 2, TEDx Rajshahi University debuted at the Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium of Rajshahi University with the theme "Unleashing Potential."

The event featured six distinguished speakers from the fields of science, arts, and performance who presented inspiring ideas to stimulate the curious minds of young audiences toward innovation, leadership, cultural significance, and creativity. 

The diverse lineup of speakers included Saleh Hasan Nakeeb, the Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University, who shared his insights on academia and research. Also present were Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Mohammad Main Uddin and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Md. Farid Uddin Khan. Additionally, multi-talented actor Khairul Basar discussed the evolving landscape of the Bengali entertainment industry. At the same time, Mohammad Tajdin Hasan, Chief Business Officer of The Daily Star, spoke about new business initiatives and strategies. Film director Syed Ahmed Shawki inspired the new generation to be creative based on his experiences in the film industry, and actor and educator Manoj Kumar Pramanik discussed cultural development through media and education. Leading geneticist Dr. Abed Chowdhury talked about his agricultural innovations reshaping food security worldwide.

This event provided a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights from leaders in various fields. The chief organiser, licensee, and curator of TEDx Rajshahi University, Mohammad Mahfuz Alam Nayan, stated, "TEDx Rajshahi University is not just an event; it is a movement to inspire transformation. The event will enhance their attitudes towards global sustainability and the expansion of Bangladeshi culture. Participants will experience an exciting journey through live TEDx presentations by speakers that will help them think differently and bring positive change to the world.

TEDx is an independently organised event series licensed by TED. Speakers from various fields deliver influential talks based on their thoughts, innovations, and experiences. The "X" signifies that these events are locally organised but follow the same format and values as TED. TEDx events provide inspiration and education by creating discussions promoting ideas that positively impact society.
