SUST IPE marks 30 years with a grand anniversary reunion

The 30th Anniversary and Grand Reunion of the Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) Department at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) was successfully celebrated.
Over 800 alumni and current students participated in this grand event, making it one of the most memorable gatherings in the department's history.
The event was inaugurated on Friday (7th February) morning with a vibrant rally and cake-cutting ceremony led by the university's Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Sajedul Karim. The opening discussion session began at 10 AM at the central auditorium, where industry experts shared valuable career insights with undergraduate students. A Job Fair was also organised in front of the auditorium, where companies such as Lafarge Holcim, SML, Avery Dennison, and Pran-RFL Ltd. collected CVs from aspiring candidates.
The winners received 2.5 lakh BDT in prize money. The first day concluded with a spectacular cultural programme filled with performances that added to the festive atmosphere.
The event Convenor, Professor Dr Muhammad Mahmud Hasan, highlighted the significance of the IPE department, saying:
"SUST was the first university in Bangladesh to introduce an undergraduate IPE program, and our graduates continue to prove their excellence worldwide. This celebration is a tribute to their success."
The second day began with social gatherings, family-friendly activities, and entertainment for children. One of the highlights was an exciting Cricket and football match between alumni and faculty members, followed by special awards and recognitions for outstanding contributions. The Lucky Draw and Raffle Draw created excitement among participants, with many walking away with amazing prizes.
The reunion's grand finale was an electrifying open-air concert in the evening. Popular bands Miles and Avoid Rafa delivered spectacular performances, leaving the audience in awe. The overwhelming crowd, the energy, and the music made the night an unforgettable experience, making it the perfect conclusion to this historic celebration.
This two-day event filled the SUST campus with joy, nostalgia, and excitement, creating lifelong memories for everyone involved.
