Super star group rolls out gratuity benefit for all staff

Super Star Group (SSG) has introduced a gratuity benefit for all its employees, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards progressive human resource practices in Bangladesh's private sector.
The announcement was made at a formal ceremony at the SSG Centre, where Managing Director Harun-or-Rashid officially launched the benefit scheme. Chairman Md. Jalal Uddin, Vice Chairman Mohiuddin, Additional Managing Director Tofael Ahmed, Deputy Managing Directors Mahbubur Rahman and Sheikh Sadi Abdul Majid, HR Director Khandoker Golam Azam, and Chief Financial Officer Aminul Islam were also present.
The gratuity initiative reflects the company's long-term commitment to the financial security of its workforce and aims to build a more resilient and motivated organisation.
Speaking on the occasion, senior leadership emphasised that the move recognises the contributions of employees at all levels and reflects the company's values of trust, respect, and long-term responsibility.
"People are our most valuable asset. This gratuity policy is not just a financial mechanism—it's a gesture of appreciation and assurance that their dedication is recognised and rewarded," said Harun-or-Rashid, Managing Director of SSG.
Gratuity is widely regarded as an essential tool for employee retention and welfare, but remains absent in many segments of the private sector in Bangladesh. By implementing such a policy, SSG joins a small group of forward-thinking companies investing in long-term workforce well-being.
Industry observers note that this policy could also have a positive impact on corporate reputation and employee morale, while setting a precedent for other firms to follow.
Founded in 1994, SSG has grown into one of Bangladesh's leading conglomerates, with diversified operations across lighting, cables, electronics, energy, infrastructure, and industrial solutions.
