Southeast Bank re-elects Rehana Rahman as vice chairperson
Mrs Rehana Rahman has been re-elected as Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Southeast Bank PLC. She was unanimously re-elected in the bank's 777th Board Meeting held on 29 October 2025.
A prominent entrepreneur in Bangladesh, Mrs Rahman serves as Managing Director of Bengal Tradeways Ltd. She is also a Director of Southeast Bank PLC, CHB Building Technologies Ltd, and the Bangladesh Chamber of Industries.
Beyond her corporate leadership, Mrs Rahman is actively engaged in sociocultural and educational initiatives. She is a Founder Life Member and past Chairperson of North South University, a Member of the United Nations Association of Bangladesh (UNAB), and President of the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh (WEAB). She is also affiliated with several social clubs, including Gulshan Club, Banani Club, Boat Club, Purbachal Club, Baridhara Diplomatic Enclave Club, and the Bangladesh-India Friendship Club.
Born into a respected Muslim family in Khulna, Mrs Rahman completed her BA (Honours) in Economics. Her father, the late Abdul Wazed Khan Chowdhury, was the Vice Principal of Dhaka Teachers Training College. She was married to the late M Masihur Rahman, a noted businessman.
For her significant contributions to women's empowerment and education, Mrs Rahman received the Begum Rokeya Shining Personality Award in 2008 and the Most Dynamic Woman Entrepreneur Award in 2009.
