Southeast Bank launches outlets to expand rural banking
Southeast Bank PLC has inaugurated 10 agent banking outlets under its "Shagotom" brand to expand access to banking services for unbanked people in rural and semi-urban areas.
The outlets have been opened in Tangail, Manikganj, Narsingdi, Dhaka, Moulvibazar, Cumilla and Feni as part of the bank's efforts to promote financial inclusion and extend banking services across the country.
Abidur Rahman Chowdhury, Additional Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC, virtually inaugurated the formal operations of the 10 outlets.
Senior officials from the bank's head office, branch heads, and proprietors of the 10 agent outlets also joined the inauguration ceremony virtually.
Southeast Bank Agent Banking, branded as "Shagotom", offers modern and technology-driven conventional and "Tijarah" Islamic banking services.
Customers at Southeast Bank Agent Banking outlets can access a range of services, including opening savings and current accounts, cash deposit and withdrawal, fund transfer, cash transfer through BEFTN and RTGS to any bank account, foreign remittance receipt, cheque book processing, debit and credit card services, BO account opening, share transaction facilities, micro, medium, Krishi and retail loans with insurance benefits, utility bill payment, loan instalment collection, government allowance disbursement and internet banking services.
Customers can also access essential banking services round the clock through Recycler ATMs.
