Saudia records 17.5m passengers in first half of 2025

Saudia, Saudi Arabia's national flag carrier, achieved a significant milestone by carrying over 17.5 million passengers in the first half of 2025—a 7.2% increase from the same period last year, according to its latest performance report.
The growth was fueled by operating over 100,000 flights spanning four continents, representing a 4% year-on-year increase. The airline logged 293,500 flight hours and achieved an on-time performance (OTP) rate of 89.6%. Saudia ranked first globally for OTP in March and June 2025, according to Cirium, an aviation analytics firm.
Bangladesh remains a strategic market for Saudia, with millions of people traveling between the countries annually for Hajj, Umrah, employment, and leisure purposes. The airline reports Bangladeshi travelers regularly select Saudia for its dependability, extensive network, and tailored services for pilgrims and expatriates.
In the first six months of 2025, Saudia carried 9.6 million international and 7.9 million domestic passengers, representing 5% and 10% year-over-year increases, respectively. The airline operated over 43,700 international and 56,400 domestic flights across the Kingdom.
The carrier credits its stronger performance and improved guest experience to its skilled national workforce, meticulous operational planning, and investments in advanced digital technologies.
Saudia operates 148 aircraft and plans to add 117, boosting capacity and opening new routes, including more services for Bangladeshi passengers. The investment supports key Saudi priorities and strengthens the air bridge with Bangladesh.
