Registration opens for ISD’s Carnegie Mellon robotics training programme

International School Dhaka (ISD) has opened registration for its Carnegie Mellon Robotics Training Programme, starting on 6 September 2025. The eight-week interdisciplinary course will provide students with technical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to support their academic and professional growth.
Sessions will run every Saturday at 9:00 am for 90 minutes at the ISD Design Center, led by George Carrington, ISD Head of Design and a Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy certified instructor. Students will be grouped according to grade and proficiency.
Grades 4–5 can join the Beginner LEGO Robotics Programme for Tk15,000, which introduces students to robot design, coding, and programming fundamentals through problem-solving challenges. For Grades 6–7, the Intermediate VEX IQ Programme, at Tk20,000, focuses on coding logic, sensor input, and decision-making through hands-on activities. Grades 8–10 will participate in the Advanced Intermediate VEX EXP Programme, also at Tk20,000, where they will study real-time feedback systems, algorithmic thinking, and robotics applications. Finally, students from Grades 11–12 can enrol in the Advanced VEX V5 and REV Robotics Programme for Tk25,000, where they will explore autonomous systems, data flow, and AI-based robotics concepts.
On completion of the training, participants will receive platform-specific certifications, including LEGO Robotics, VEX IQ, VEX EXP, or V5.
George Carrington said, "This programme is an excellent opportunity for young minds to explore robotics and gain skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. Students will build collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities that will support future STEM education and professional growth."
Registration will close on 1 September 2025. Interested families can register online via this link or contact International School Dhaka for further details.
