ISD graduates secure over $3 million in global scholarships

The International School Dhaka (ISD)'s Class of 2025 has secured university scholarships worth over $3 million, as 43 students graduated in a ceremony held at Le Méridien, Dhaka.
Offers have come in from leading universities across the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Spain, the Netherlands, and Hong Kong — including the University of Toronto, the University of Sydney, the University of Manchester, and New York University. Scholarships offered by institutions in the US, UK, Canada and Australia account for the bulk of the multi-million-dollar total.
Valedictorian Vanisha Goel will attend the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to study Data Science and Technology.
In her speech, she said, "ISD became more than just a school. It became my home. It embraced who I was and who I wanted to become, and for that, I am forever grateful."
"I'll be attending the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to study Data Science and Technology. I'm excited to be part of a cutting-edge programme in one of Asia's most innovative universities and to live in a vibrant city like Hong Kong where tech, culture and opportunity intersect," she added. "In the future, I hope to use my data analysis skills to solve real-world problems and drive meaningful change."
Speaking at the event, ISD Director Steve Calland-Scoble said, "Today, we celebrate the amazing hard work, dedication and ambition of our senior students as they complete their journey at ISD. As a school, we are incredibly proud of their achievements in our IB Diploma Programme as they embark on new paths of learning that will take them to the world's best universities."
Special guest and ISD alumna Shaveena Anam, now Manager of New Content and Audience Research at The Daily Star, also addressed the graduates and shared her reflections.
