Rangamati police, puja committee discuss Durga Puja security
Rangamati district police and leaders of the Puja Celebration Committee discussed security arrangements to ensure peaceful Durga Puja 2026 celebrations.
According to the press release, the meeting was held yesterday (1 October) in the afternoon in the conference room of the superintendent of police's office in Rangamati, with Puja Celebration Committee leaders invited to attend.
Rangamati Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rakib chaired the meeting, while Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Md Iqbal Hossain moderated it.
Puja Celebration Committee leaders discussed the overall law-and-order situation and security arrangements to ensure a peaceful, festive atmosphere for Durga Puja.
They welcomed the district police's security initiatives and pledged full cooperation with law enforcement agencies during the celebrations.
Abdur Rakib said the district police would take necessary security measures to ensure peaceful celebrations. He stressed the importance of cooperation and responsible conduct by everyone, including puja committee members, to prevent untoward incidents and rumours.
He expressed hope that collective efforts would ensure Durga Puja was celebrated in harmony.
Among those present were Rangamati Hill District Council Member Nandita Das, former council member Dayal Das, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md Tarek Sekandar, DI-1 SM Mosaddekul Maula, Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Jasim Uddin, District Detective Branch Officer-in-Charge HM Mahmud and Traffic Inspector (Administration) Saifur Rahman.
Senior district police officials and Puja Celebration Committee leaders were also present.
