Prime Bank, Mastercard launch ‘tapin’ nfc-enabled debit sticker card
Prime Bank PLC, in partnership with Mastercard, has launched "TapIn", an NFC-enabled debit sticker card designed to offer faster, secure and seamless payments for customers, the bank said.
Developed by IDEMIA with local partner ADN Technologies Ltd, the solution was unveiled at a ceremony held at Prime Tower. The event was attended by M Nazeem A Choudhury, deputy managing director of Prime Bank PLC; Syed Mohammad Kamal, country manager for Bangladesh at Mastercard; and A M Ehsan-ul Haque, chief executive officer of ADN Technologies Ltd, along with senior officials from the organisations.
Prime Bank said the "TapIn" sticker card is a slim, secure and globally accepted payment solution that can be attached to a smartphone, wallet or other personal items, enabling customers to make tap-and-go payments.
The solution includes encryption and fraud protection, the bank said, adding that customers will receive instant transaction notifications and real-time account visibility. The sticker card can be used at Mastercard-enabled POS terminals and is supported for ATM cash withdrawal from Prime Bank ATMs through MyPrime, according to the bank.
Cardholders can also access year-round privileges at more than 10,000 Mastercard partner merchants across Bangladesh, along with global offers, it said.
"The launch of TapIn reflects our commitment to delivering innovative, secure and convenient payment solutions for our customers. As lifestyles evolve, we aim to provide seamless digital experiences that simplify everyday transactions while ensuring the highest standards of security and reliability," said M Nazeem A Choudhury.
Syed Mohammad Kamal said, "Today's consumers expect payments that move at the speed of their lives. The launch of TapIn with Prime Bank introduces a smart, tap-and-go solution that combines convenience, security and style in one seamless experience."
The bank said customers can obtain the TapIn sticker card from selected Prime Bank branches.
