Presidency Annual Sports 2025 concludes at Bandar Stadium
The three-day Presidency Annual Sports 2025 concluded at Bandar Stadium on Friday, 19 December, following competitions held from 17 to 19 December.
The event brought together students from senior, middle and junior schools, alongside parents and teachers, highlighting sportsmanship and student participation.
The grand finale was presided over by Rector of Presidency Education Dr Imam Hasan Reza and inaugurated by Dr Shahadat Hossain as chief guest. He was received with a march-past led by Head Boy Fahmid Mohtasim Chowdhury and Head Girl Kishwar Ashrafi Khan. The Olympic torch was carried by the 2024 school champion Jawadul Alam Arsun.
In his address, Dr Shahadat Hossain emphasised the importance of physical fitness alongside academic learning. Referring to the student-led mass uprising of 2024, he said the sacrifices made underscored the responsibility of youth in shaping the nation's future. He also paid tribute to the freedom fighters of the Liberation War.
More than 1,000 students from senior and middle schools competed in 76 events, while over 500 junior school students took part in 40 events across four houses—Falcon, Kite, Hawk and Eagle. Based on overall points, Eagle House emerged as school champion.
Ehan Ajmain Hoque and Tafannum Muntaha Taki of Falcon House were named school champions, while Tayebin Tariq of Eagle House and Nusrat Jahan of Kite House won the college champion titles in the boys' and girls' categories respectively.
At the prize-giving ceremony, Managing Director of Nahar Agro Group Rakibur Rahman attended as special guest. Prizes were distributed in the presence of Chairman Ashraful Haque Khan Swapan, Member Secretary Md Gulzar Alam, members of the Presidency academic committee and vice-principals of the senior, middle and junior schools.
Organisers said the event reflected collective effort and student engagement across the institution.
