PPP Authority’s divisional conference showcases investment potential

The Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) successfully organised its Divisional Conference on 15 May 2025 at the Bangladesh-China Power Company Ltd. (BCPCL), Patuakhali.
The conference aimed to unlock regional investment opportunities through the PPP model.
The event brought together key stakeholders from government and industry. PPP Authority CEO (Secretary) Muhammad Rafiqul Islam attended as Chief Guest, Divisional Commissioner Mohammed Rayhan Kaosar chaired the session, and District Commissioner Patuakhali MD Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arefin joined as Special Guest.
In his address, the Chief Guest highlighted the government's readiness to offer large expanses of unused public land, especially in the southern coastal region, for renewable energy initiatives, emphasising the potential for solar and wind energy. He also pointed to the area's rare natural feature—locations like Kuakata, where sunrise and sunset are visible from the same point—as a unique advantage for tourism investment under PPP.
The conference reinforced the PPPA's strategic role in facilitating sustainable and inclusive development through well-structured partnerships. The Authority invited private investors of the Barishal division to capitalise on streamlined processes and strong policy support to build the next generation of energy and tourism infrastructure in Bangladesh. In addition, divisional and district-level officers from various public departments attended the conference.
