US President Donald Trump has sparked controversy with two contrasting statements made just ahead of the US midterm elections and the Norwegian Nobel Committee's announcement of the Peace Prize. On one hand, he has declared himself a worthy candidate for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, claiming to have received nominations from Cambodia, Israel, and Pakistan.
