People’s University elects Mostafa Kamal as Board of Trustees Chairman

Mostafa Kamal, Chairman & Managing Director of Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of The People's University of Bangladesh. The election took place during the university's Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Gulshan Club, Dhaka, where attending members voted him in for a two-year term.

Additionally, Dr. Minhaj Uddin Ahmed was re-elected as Vice Chairman, while Muhammad Nazmul Hasan was elected as Member Secretary. Other BoT members present at the meeting included Salimul Haque Kamal, Mahmudur Rahman Sumon, Shamsunnahar Rashid, Shah Nurunnabi, Umme Kulsum Parvin, Nadia Hossain, Kazi Ariful Islam, Rajib Chakraborty, and the university's Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. A.K.M. Mahbubuzzaman.

Beyond his leadership in industrial growth, Mostafa Kamal has made significant contributions to education, healthcare, and social welfare in Bangladesh. His efforts extend across both urban and rural areas, promoting access to education at various levels. His notable contributions include scholarships at Dhaka University's Marketing Department, research and scholarship grants at BUET's Chemical Engineering Department, and the establishment and management of educational institutions such as Alhaj Noor Mia Degree College and Alhaj Ayesha Khatun Polytechnic Institute, along with several schools, colleges, and madrasas across the country.

With his new role as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mostafa Kamal is expected to further strengthen the university's academic excellence and educational outreach, reinforcing his commitment to the advancement of higher education in Bangladesh.
