NSU hosts launch of marketing books on Bangladesh market
The North South University (NSU) Department of Marketing and International Business (MIB) held a book launch ceremony for two publications: "Marketing: Applications in Bangladesh" (third edition) by Dr Tamgid Ahmed Chowdhury, and "Cases on Marketing: Perspectives from Bangladesh" (second edition), a collaborative work by faculty members of the department.
The event took place at the NSU Syndicate Hall on 25 January 2026, with logistical support from the Marketing and International Business Club (MIBC).
Speaking at the event, Prof Dr Tamgid Ahmed Chowdhury of the Department of Marketing and International Business at NSU said that his book aims to provide students with a localised understanding of marketing, which he described as essential for comprehending the dynamics of the Bangladeshi market.
Senior Lecturer of the Department of Marketing and International Business, Zarjina Tarana Khalil, one of the contributors to the case book, said that there is a shortage of locally grounded marketing cases, and that the publication seeks to bridge the gap between theory and real-world marketing practices in Bangladesh.
The programme was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of North South University, Prof Abdul Hannan Chowdhury; the Pro Vice-Chancellor of NSU, Prof Nasar U Ahmed; the Treasurer of the university, Prof Abdur Rob Khan; and the Dean of the School of Business and Economics at NSU, Prof A K M Waresul Karim, who attended as guests of honour. In their remarks, they praised the initiative and encouraged further academic contributions grounded in local business realities.
Deans and department chairpersons from other schools and departments of NSU, along with industry professionals, faculty members, and students of the Department of Marketing and International Business, were also present at the event.
