NSU holds seminar on exploring marketing databases and AI

The Digital Environment Committee of the Department of Marketing and International Business at North South University (NSU) organised a skill development seminar on "Introducing Marketing Database and AI Tools" on February 12, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at AUDI 801, North South University.

Designed for students and faculty, the event used marketing databases, such as Statista, and AI tools for market research, industry analysis, competitive benchmarking, consumer behaviour studies, and trend forecasting.

Dr Khandker Md Nahin Mamun, Assistant Professor and Chair of the Department of Marketing & International Business, and Dr Tamhid Ul Islam, Assistant Professor of the same department, conducted the seminar. Their expertise and insights provided valuable knowledge on utilising marketing databases and AI tools to develop strategic decision-making and optimise marketing efforts.

In his opening remarks, Dr Tamhid emphasised that data has become essential today. He introduced "Statista," a German-based online platform that compiles vast amounts of data and statistics, enabling students to access reliable data, market insights and visualised statistics for research, assignments, and industry analysis. He shared insights on effectively using secondary data on Statista.

To complement this knowledge, Dr Mamun shared insights on multiple AI tools that would help marketing research by offering built-in prompts and creating realistic creative ad materials for well-thought branding. He highlighted the effectiveness of platforms such as Jeda AI, Avidnote.com, ChatGPT, and KLING AI in streamlining research, improving content creation, and optimising marketing strategies.

This event equipped attendees with a comprehensive understanding of modern marketing analytics, enabling them to stay ahead in an increasingly data-driven business landscape. Dr. Mamun concluded the seminar with an engaging Q&A session, allowing participants to clarify their queries. He also thanked all attendees for their time and active participation.
