Nippon Paint Bangladesh concludes AYDA Awards 2025 in Dhaka
Nippon Paint Bangladesh has concluded the AYDA Awards 2025 at the InterContinental Dhaka, recognising student talent in architecture and interior design.
Launched globally in 2008 and in Bangladesh in 2016, the AYDA Awards aim to encourage innovation, professionalism, and responsible design among students, according to the company.
This year's competition was held under the theme "Converge: Crafting Cultural Legacy", encouraging participants to combine cultural heritage with contemporary design approaches.
According to Nippon Paint Bangladesh, national gold winners received Tk50,000 and silver winners received Tk25,000, along with the opportunity to represent Bangladesh at the fully funded AYDA Summit in Bangkok, Thailand. The company added that international gold winners from both categories will have an opportunity to enrol in the AYDA–Harvard Design Discovery Programme, with expenses sponsored by Nippon Paint.
The event was judged by a jury of architects and academics. It was attended by senior officials of Nippon Paint Bangladesh, architects from the Public Works Department (PWD) and private firms, and department heads from universities.
National winners
- Gold: Rabiul Islam Remon (RUET) – Architecture; Shuvro Kumar Ghosh (KUET) – Interior Design
- Silver: Mohima Islam Hridita (KUET) – Architecture; Sattyajit Kundu Hridoy (Khulna University) – Interior Design
The Best Supporting School award went to Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). The Best Mentor award was presented to Sajal Chowdhury (CUET), while the Best Coordinator award was jointly presented to Syed Noman Mohammad (Shanto Mariam University of Creative Technology) and Tanzela Monsur (BRAC University).
According to Nippon Paint Bangladesh, the programme reflects its focus on supporting future professionals in architecture and interior design.
