Nestlé partners with BCSIR to launch cereal-based fortifier for children’s nutrition

Nestlé Bangladesh PLC, the local arm of the Switzerland-originated multinational, is set to launch Nestlé PushtiGrow+, a cereal-based fortifier aimed at improving nutrition among children aged 5 to 9 years.

Developed in collaboration with the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR)—the country's leading multidisciplinary government research organisation—this initiative addresses the pressing issue of micronutrient deficiencies in growing children. The fortifier has been tailored to meet the nutritional needs of this specific age group, offering an affordable, accessible solution for families across all socio-economic backgrounds.

At a recent signing ceremony in the capital, Debabrata Roy Chowdhury, Director, Legal, RSA & CA, and Company Secretary, represented Nestlé alongside other company officials. From BCSIR, Secretary Mohammad Shohedul Hoque Patwary and Member (Development) Md Toufiq-E-Elahi Chowdhury attended, alongside BCSIR Chairman Dr Samina Ahmed.

Dr Ahmed noted, "Our partnership with Nestlé holds great promise for elevating the country's nutritional status and directly contributing to the realisation of Bangladesh's Sustainable Development Goals."

With the launch of Nestlé PushtiGrow+, Nestlé reaffirms its commitment to building a healthier future for the nation's children—fortifying not only their diets, but the foundations of a stronger, more nourished Bangladesh.
