NDUB to hold 2nd convocation on February 8

Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) is all set to celebrate its second convocation on February 8, 2025, on its campus. The convocation will recognise the achievements of its graduating students, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey.
Professor Dr Muhammad Fouzil Kabir Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Railways, and Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, will preside over the convocation. He will represent the President of Bangladesh and the Chancellor of NDUB.
The programme will begin with an academic procession followed by recitations from the Holy Qur'an, Bible, Gita, and Tripitaka. Professor Dr Fr. Patrick D. Gaffney, CSC, Vice Chancellor of NDUB, will deliver the welcome address, while Dr R. Scott Appleby, Keough-Hesburgh Professor of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA, will address the audience as the Convocation Speaker.
Several dignitaries, including Professor Dr Mohammad Anwar Hossen, Member of the University Grants Commission, Archbishop Bejoy N. D'Cruze, OMI, and Dr Fr. George Kamal Rozario, CSC, Chairman of NDUB Board of Trustees, will also speak on occasion. Dr. Fr. Leonard Shankar Rozario, CSC, Registrar of NDUB, will confer degrees upon the graduates.
In recognition of academic excellence, the Chancellor's Gold Medal and Vice Chancellor's Gold Medal awards will be presented to students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement, alongside several bronze medals for different categories. Fr. Basil Anthony M. Moreau Gold Medal Award for Outstanding Faculty Member will also be presented at the program.
The ceremony will conclude with a vote of thanks by Fr. Ashim Theotonius Gonsalves, CSC, Deputy Registrar, followed by a cultural performance by the NDUB students and an exciting band performance by "Shironamhin."
