Nagad, Mutual Trust Bank sign deal to expand interoperable payments
Nagad Limited and Mutual Trust Bank PLC have signed an agreement to expand interoperable transaction services nationwide.
The agreement was recently signed at Mutual Trust Bank PLC's head office. Under the arrangement, Mutual Trust Bank will serve as the settlement bank for NPSB and Bangla QR transactions processed via Nagad's mobile financial service platform.
The initiative is expected to bolster interoperable, cashless transaction services, contributing to a robust digital economy and the establishment of smart governance in Bangladesh, according to a press release.
Md Motasem Billah, administrator, signed the agreement on behalf of Nagad Limited, while Syed Mahbubur Rahman, managing director and CEO, represented Mutual Trust Bank PLC. Senior officials from both organisations were also present at the signing ceremony.
Officials from both institutions expressed optimism about deepening collaboration in the coming days to further enrich Bangladesh's digital transaction ecosystem. They reiterated their commitment to continuing joint initiatives to expand digital payment services nationwide.
