Mongla EPZ secures $8m South Korean investment

OCF Co. Ltd., a South Korean company, will invest US$8.06 million to establish a manufacturing plant for tents, camping furniture, accessories, and bags in the Mongla Export Processing Zone (EPZ).
On 6 August 2025, an agreement was signed at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka between Md Ashraful Kabir, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Hyun Gil Kim, Chairman of OCF Co Ltd. witnessed by BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, BSP, ndc, psc.
Building on this investment, the facility will produce tents, tent and furniture accessories, camping chairs and tables, aluminium and carbon trekking poles, ski poles, mountain and walking sticks, bed cots, stands, pet furniture, arrows, and various types of bags. It is expected to create 820 jobs for Bangladeshi nationals.
At the signing ceremony, Major General Ziaur Rahman welcomed the company's second project under BEPZA and urged OCF Co., Ltd. to act as an ambassador for attracting further South Korean investment to Bangladesh's EPZs. He reaffirmed BEPZA's commitment to providing a secure and supportive environment for investors.
In response, Hyun Gil Kim expressed gratitude for BEPZA's cooperation and stated the company aims to begin production by next year.
Also present at the event were BEPZA Member (Engineering) Md Imtiaz Hossain, Member (Finance) A N M Foyzul Haque, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Public Relations) ASM Anwar Parvez, and representatives of OCF Co. Ltd.
