MGI pledges more jobs at annual ‘leap of progress’ event
Meghna Group of Industries (MGI) has pledged to create more employment opportunities in Bangladesh.
The commitment was made by the group's board of directors at its annual employee performance evaluation event, "Leap of Progress", held at a hotel in Dhaka on 7 March 2026.
"Leap of Progress" is a platform dedicated to recognising the hard work and commitment of MGI employees. This year's programme was attended by around 500 senior officials from different business verticals of the group, alongside members of the board of directors. MGI Chief Human Resources Officer Atiq uz Zaman Khan welcomed the board and senior leaders to the event.

MGI celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025. At the programme, the board shared strategic directions with senior leaders to support the group's future growth. Senior officials also exchanged views on initiatives aimed at sustaining growth and modernising the workplace.
Speaking at the event, MGI Chairman and Managing Director Mostafa Kamal said, "Over the past 50 years, MGI has played a significant role in the socio-economic development of Bangladesh. To continue this momentum, we are moving forward with factory expansion. Alongside business growth, MGI remains committed to creating employment opportunities for the country's talented workforce."
He added, "Rapid technological advancement and changing global market dynamics are reshaping business operations and demanding new skill sets. Our young professionals are embracing these evolving work environments with courage. By strengthening market-driven knowledge and skills among our youth, Bangladesh's industrial sector can add new dimensions to the global economy."
Among others present at the event were MGI directors Tahmina Mostafa, Tanjima Mostafa, Tanveer Mostafa and Barrister Tasnim Mostafa; Taif Bin Yousuf, senior executive director; Sameera Rahman, executive director and head of export; Wasikur Rahman; and Rashik Chowdhury.
During the programme, the company announced promotions of deputy general managers and other senior officials and handed over their promotion letters.
MGI is a Bangladeshi conglomerate operating 57 industrial units and employing more than 65,000 people nationwide. The group has operations in FMCG, building materials, energy, hospitality and financial services.
