Islami Bank signs MoU with Pundra University for digital fee payment
Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pundra University of Science and Technology, TMSS Medical College, and 14 other educational institutions operated under TMSS to facilitate fee payments through CellFin and mCash.
The signing ceremony was held at the Pundra University auditorium in Bogura. Under the agreement, students of these institutions will be able to pay tuition and other fees through any Islami Bank branch, sub-branch, or agent outlet, as well as via the CellFin and mCash digital platforms.
Professor Dr Chittaranjan Mishra, vice-chancellor of Pundra University, and Engineer Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder, additional managing director of Islami Bank, were present at the event. Professor Dr Hosne Ara Begum, chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Pundra University, and Sikder Md Shehabuddin, executive vice-president of Islami Bank, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.
Earlier, a seminar titled "Islamic Banking and Its Digital Products: Acceptance and Benefits" was held at Pundra University. Rotarian Dr Md Matiur Rahman, vice-chairman of the Board of Trustees of Pundra University; Md Maznuzzaman, executive vice-president of Islami Bank; senior bank officials; university faculty members; and students attended the session.
