Islami Bank organises orientation for newly recruited trainee officers
Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC organised an orientation programme for 1,000 newly recruited Trainee Assistant Officers on Thursday, 1 January 2026, at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh in Dhaka.
The officers were appointed through a transparent recruitment process involving a written examination and a viva voce, and were selected from 91,756 candidates. All 64 districts of the country were represented in the recruitment, with Chattogram ranking first, followed by Cumilla and Cox's Bazar. Graduates from 76 universities across the country were selected on merit.
Professor Dr M Zubaidur Rahman, Chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, attended the programme as chief guest. The event was presided over by Md Omar Faruk Khan, Managing Director of the bank. Additional Managing Directors, Md Altaf Hossain and Mohammad Jamal Uddin Majumder, were present as special guests.
Dr M Kamal Uddin Jasim, Additional Managing Director, delivered the welcome address. Deputy Managing Directors, Md Mahboob Alam, Mahmudur Rahman, Md Rafiqul Islam, Muhammad Sayeed Ullah, K M Munirul Alam Al-Mamoon, and Md Maksudur Rahman, were also present.
In his speech, Professor Dr M Zubaidur Rahman stated that Islami Bank had faced numerous challenges in recent years but had turned each challenge into an opportunity, allowing the institution to regain momentum and return to growth.
Calling on the newly appointed officers to play a vital role in accelerating the bank's progress, he expressed confidence that the young workforce would contribute to the development of Bangladesh and a modern Islamic banking system.
"Those joining the bank today will lead the banking sector tomorrow. Everyone must work with this dream in mind," he said.
He also urged the officers to earn customers' trust through professional excellence, ethical conduct, and improved service delivery.
