Islami Bank launches mastercard international debit card
Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has launched a Mastercard international debit card for foreign currency account holders, enabling seamless transactions worldwide.
Through this new offering, holders of Resident Foreign Currency Deposit (RFCD), Foreign Currency Current (FCC), and Exporters' Retention Quota (ERQ) accounts will be able to carry out transactions using their respective foreign currency balances.
The launch event took place on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Islami Bank Tower in Dhaka. Md Omar Faruk Khan, Managing Director of Islami Bank, formally inaugurated the card.

Present as special guests were additional managing directors Md Altaf Hossain and Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder; Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager, Mastercard Bangladesh; and Sohail Alim, Director, Mastercard Bangladesh. Deputy managing directors Mahmudur Rahman, Md Rafiqul Islam, Muhammad Sayeed Ullah, K M Munirul Alam Al-Mamoon, and Dr. M. Kamaluddin Jasim also attended the ceremony.
Md Mosharraf Hossain, head of the Digital Banking Wing of Islami Bank, delivered the welcome speech. Senior executives and officials from both the Islami Bank and Mastercard were present on the occasion.
