Islami Bank launches country’s first ai voice assistant in cellfin
Islami Bank has launched the country's first artificial intelligence–based voice assistant, CellFin Echo, within its CellFin app.
The feature is a fully voice-driven virtual assistant that enables customers to carry out banking activities through simple voice commands. When a user gives a command in English, CellFin Echo verifies their identity and completes the requested task automatically, without requiring any touch input.
For example, when a customer says "Show me CellFin/mCash balance", CellFin Echo instantly displays the balance. If a user states an account number, the system immediately shows the balance of that account. Commands such as "Send Taka ten thousand to Mamun's account" prompt CellFin Echo to prepare a transfer to the beneficiary saved as Mamun in the favourites list, after which the customer confirms the transaction by entering a PIN and OTP.
Customers can also pay Khidmah credit card bills using voice commands. Saying "Check my Khidmah bill and pay" prompts the assistant to review the outstanding bill and proceed with payment from the linked account, requiring only the final PIN and OTP for confirmation.
CellFin Echo also simplifies cardless cash withdrawal. When a user says "Generate token to withdraw Taka twenty thousand from account number…", the system automatically generates a withdrawal token that can be used at an ATM.
Mobile recharge can similarly be completed without touching the device. By saying "Recharge my mobile with Taka twenty", the amount is automatically recharged. Users can mention a saved name or phone number to recharge another recipient.
Beyond transactions, CellFin Echo allows customers to access account statements, view limits for CellFin and cards, and check fees and charges. Users can request statements for specific periods, apply filters, and even log out using voice commands.
CellFin has already established itself as a leading smart-banking platform of Islami Bank, offering services such as bill payments, fund transfers, and remittance collection. Nearly 5.7 million customers now use the platform.
CellFin Echo is currently in a learning phase to improve its accuracy in recognising user voices. For now, customers must manually enter the PIN and OTP, though these steps are expected to be automated in future upgrades.
