ISD, IHF support sanitation at Panchkhola school
International School Dhaka (ISD) and its Humanity Foundation have initiated a washroom construction project at Panchkhola Primary School to improve sanitation and hygiene for students and demonstrate their dedication to community wellbeing.
ISD funds the project, which Humanity Foundation manages, according to a press release.
Representatives from both organisations recently visited the school to assess construction progress and interact with students, teachers, and school officials.
ISD teachers and staff—including Ayaz Alam Qayami, Charles Gumba, Faresta Ali Mallick, and FHM Rakiba—attended the visit.
The It's Humanity Foundation team included founder and executive director Md Adnan Hossain, head of programmes Noor E Fayzun Nahar, senior manager for communication and PR Mahin Hossain, and additional officials.
Adnan emphasised that access to proper sanitation is a fundamental right and vital for a safe, inclusive learning environment.
He continued that constructing washrooms extends beyond infrastructure, supporting students' dignity, health, and well-being.
Improved sanitation facilities can boost school attendance, especially among girls, he observed.
Upon completion, the new washrooms will directly benefit around 150 students at Panchkhola Primary School.
As part of the project, ISD students joined construction activities, demonstrating collaboration and social responsibility.
The project highlights the unified commitment of ISD and its Humanity Foundation to nurturing a healthier, more supportive learning environment at Panchkhola Primary School.
