Involve girls in higher education and development

National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr ASM Amanullah has called for initiatives to involve the country's girls in higher education and development processes.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the annual sports competition and award distribution ceremony organised by Lalmatia Women's College in the capital on the morning of February 24, 2025. The Vice-Chancellor said, " Where development is not possible without the steps of women, Bangladesh is lagging behind the most in South Asia regarding women's participation and presence in the socio-economic development of a country. " He also commented that it is possible to significantly increase the GDP rate by making women productive.

The Vice-Chancellor further said, "Without ensuring effective participation of women in the decision-making process and empowering women politically, there will be a possibility of accidents while travelling on the highway of prosperity. " At this time, the Vice Chancellor emphasised ensuring women's participation by enhancing their skills in all development activities. In this context, the Vice Chancellor of the National University further mentioned, " Almost half of the university's students are women. The National University has already taken the initiative to provide technical and vocational education to this large, educated population, especially freelancing training. " Among others, the program was attended by Lalmatia Women's College Principal Professor Jahanara Zaman , Associate Professor Ayub Ali , Director and Secretary of the Office of the Vice Chancellor of the National University Md. Aminul Akhter, Research Officer Faisal Alam and teachers-students, officers-employees of the college O The righteous.
