Inter-university business case competition 'TexBiz' returns to BUTEX

After a six-year hiatus, Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) is once again hosting an inter-university business case competition, "TexBiz 2025," organised by the BUTEX Business Club.
This competition aims to equip undergraduate students with problem-solving skills in real-world business scenarios. Students from all disciplines enrolled in public and private universities and colleges across Bangladesh are eligible to participate. Each team must consist of two to four members, with at least one female participant. Additionally, teams can be formed with students from different universities, promoting diversity and cross-institutional collaboration.
TexBiz 2025 will be conducted in four phases. In the first phase, teams will receive a business-related case to analyse and submit their solutions online, from which top-performing teams will be selected for the next round. The second phase requires selected teams to create a short video addressing a business problem. In the third phase, participants will analyse and present a newly assigned business case before a panel of judges. The final round will challenge the top teams to solve an extended version of a previous case and present their solutions at the grand finale, which will take place on May 23, 2025. The winning teams will be awarded cash prizes, with the champion team receiving BDT 40,000, the first runner-up BDT 25,000, and the second runner-up BDT 15,000.
Speaking about the competition, Fiza, President of the BUTEX Business Club, emphasised that the organisation is committed to fostering students' skill development. TexBiz 2025 is designed to provide participants with real-world experience while encouraging innovative thinking. Sohan, the club's general secretary, added that this initiative will open new opportunities for students, allowing them to demonstrate their problem-solving abilities and gain hands-on experience in tackling business challenges.
Interested participants must register through the official website by April 18, 2025. She-STEM, Dysin Group, Officina, and other esteemed organisations support this year's competition.
Returning for the first time since 2019, TexBiz 2025 promises to be a dynamic and competitive platform for aspiring business leaders, fostering innovation and strategic thinking among students.
