iFarmer launches farmer card in Bogura to advance digital agriculture

iFarmer, one of the country's leading agri-fintech startups, has launched a new initiative to familiarise farmers with digital agriculture and streamline access to essential farming services.
During a two-day event held at iFarmer Centre in Shajahanpur and Sonatala upazilas of Bogura, which began on Monday, the startup distributed its newly launched 'Farmer Card' to local farmers, marking a step forward in accessible and tech-driven farming support.
Through this card, farmers will be able to access multiple services under a single identity, including financial support for essential agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, and other materials; advisory and information services; insurance coverage; data verification and record-keeping facilities; and special discounts on a range of agricultural services.
In the first phase, 110 farmers from Shajahanpur and Sonatala upazilas received the card. Each card carries a unique identification assigned to an individual farmer, enabling secure verification and digital record-keeping across all services. The system is expected to make access to services faster, simpler, and more secure for rural farmers.
Md Muhaiminul Hossain, head of Product Management at iFarmer, inaugurated the event and handed the cards to the farmers. "Through the Farmer Card, we aim to make agricultural services more accessible, digital and affordable for farmers," he said.
He added that while the initiative has been piloted in Bogura, iFarmer plans to expand the service to other districts soon.
iFarmer's key team members—including Senior Product Manager Rakib Hasan Fahim, National Operations Manager Md Abu Sayed, Deputy General Manager (Agri Input) Mahmudul Hasan Nabil and Regional Manager Mizanur Rahman Pradhan—were present to support the launch and engage with local farmers.
