IDRA holds youth-focused seminars to promote insurance awareness
The Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) observed 'Tarunyer Utsab: Customer Service Fortnight 2025' from 19 October to 2 November 2025, following the directive of the Financial Institutions Division.
The initiative was formally inaugurated by Dr M Aslam Alam, chairman of IDRA, on 19 October.
As part of the fortnight-long programme, a seminar titled "Employment Opportunities for Youth in the Insurance Industry: Development and Prospects of the Actuarial Profession" was held on 29 October at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB). Speakers encouraged young people to pursue the promising actuarial profession.
On the same day, another seminar on "Conventional Insurance Plans for the Youth" was organised at International Standard University.
Later, on 2 November, a seminar on "Prospects and Career Opportunities in the Insurance Sector" was held at the Dr Abdullah Faruk Multipurpose Hall of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka. Another special session on "Conventional Insurance Plans for the Youth" took place at Brac University in the afternoon.
In all sessions, Dr M Aslam Alam, chairman of IDRA, attended as chief guest and chair. He urged young people to become more aware of the importance of insurance, noting that financial security in the country depends largely on raising awareness among youth. He also highlighted potential career paths in the insurance industry.
All events were attended by IDRA members and senior officials, insurance experts, actuaries, and university faculty members.
