Government taking visible steps to fulfil pledges: State Minister
State Minister Sultan Salahuddin Tuku announced that the government has started delivering on its pre-election promises through effective actions.
He said, 'The BNP government has been in office for only two months. During this period, the administration has actively begun fulfilling the commitments made by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman ahead of the election.'
Tuku made these remarks while addressing the opening of a two-day poetry festival at Tangail Club as chief guest.

He noted that the government had started implementing its pledges, including salaries and allowances for imams and muezzins, family and farmer cards, loan waivers for farmers, and canal excavation programmes.
He expressed hope for developing Tangail with the support of all and assured that maximum efforts would be made to reduce unemployment in the district.
Tuku also sought cooperation from stakeholders to create employment opportunities for unemployed youths.
'Literature plays a unique role in shaping the intellectual life of a nation, while poetry awakens human values and compassion,' he added.
Freedom fighter and poet Bulbul Khan Mahbub inaugurated the festival, while Mahmud Kamal, general secretary of Tangail General Library and poet, presided over the event.
Writers, poets, and cultural activists participated in the programme, which included poetry recitation, readings, and literary discussions over two days.
