ICMAB holds orientation for newly admitted CMA students
The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) organised a students' orientation programme at its Ruhul Quddus Auditorium in Nilkhet to welcome newly admitted students of the January–June 2026 session of the CMA programme.
The programme featured three segments — an academic briefing session, "Revisiting the memory lane" and a freshers' reception — aimed at providing academic direction and professional orientation. The academic briefing was conducted by Prof Dr Nikhil Chandra Shil FCMA and Prof Dr Mohammad Zakaria Masud FCMA, who outlined the CMA curriculum, examination system and career prospects.
Speaking at the programme, ICMAB President Md Kausar Alam FCMA said, "The CMA profession plays a vital role in strengthening corporate governance, financial discipline and sustainable business practices. Through this programme, we prepare professionals with strong analytical capability, ethical values and global exposure to contribute effectively to both the public and private sectors."
Vice-President and chairman of the education committee S M Zahir Uddin Haider FCMA said the CMA qualification requires discipline, continuous learning and a high standard of professional integrity.
Executive Director Md Mahbub-Ul-Alam FCMA welcomed the students and said the institute would provide academic and administrative support. Treasurer Prof Dr Md Musfiqur Rahman FCMA encouraged students to remain focused and committed to professional excellence.
The programme also featured awards for the SAFA Essay Competition 2025 and the distribution of scholarship cheques to eligible students. It concluded with a vote of thanks by ICMAB Secretary Monjur Md Shaiful Azam FCMA.
