Hult Prize, known as the "Nobel Prize for student entrepreneurs," is a global competition that challenges young minds to develop innovative business solutions to pressing social issues. The ULAB edition of the competition provided students with a platform to refine their ideas, receive mentorship, and present sustainable solutions to real-world challenges.
The event commenced with an opening speech by Professor Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, Dean of ULAB Business School, who highlighted the importance of effective communication in entrepreneurship. He stated, "To make an impact, entrepreneurs must master the art of persuasion. Aristotle's three modes- Ethos, Pathos, and Logos—are essential in crafting compelling narratives that resonate."
Ekhtear Ahmed Zeesan, Advisor of the Hult Prize at ULAB 2024/2025, emphasised the competition's role in nurturing young entrepreneurs. He remarked, "This prize money will help the winners take the first steps in launching their businesses. I hope this experience motivates all participants to pursue their ventures with confidence and resilience."
The Chief Guest, Mr Shubhashish Bose, CEO of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh, encouraged the participants to drive change, stating, "It's time for the young generation to create solutions for the ongoing climate crisis. Failure is a stepping stone to success-remember the story of Robert Bruce."
