Grameen Bank pays Tk8.7cr dividend to government
Grameen Bank paid Tk8.7 crore to the government as a 30% dividend for 2025, according to a press release.
On 7 September, Grameen Bank Chairman Professor Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury handed the cheque to Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, according to a press release.
Grameen Bank declared a 30% dividend for its shareholders for 2025.
Grameen Bank is jointly owned and operated by its borrower-members and the government, with borrower-members holding 90% of its shares and the government owning the remaining 10%.
Also present at the cheque handover were Financial Institutions Division Secretary Nazma Mobarek; Grameen Bank Managing Director Sarder Akhter Hamed; Deputy Managing Directors Syed Motiur Rahman and Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury; and Company Secretary Abdus Sabur Md Baqius.
