Elite steel hosts high-level military engineering services delegation
Elite Steel recently hosted a high-level delegation of 32 officials from the Military Engineering Services (MES) for a full-day technical visit to its industrial and corporate facilities.
The delegation, led by Group Captain Colonel Iqbal Hossain, PSC, DW&C (Air), began the visit at Elite Steel's state-of-the-art rolling plant in Tongi, Gazipur. MES officials were briefed on the company's production workflow, quality assurance systems and recent technological upgrades. The team also viewed a presentation on Elite Steel's advanced Ghorashal melting plant, highlighting modern safety features, operational efficiency and environmental compliance measures.
An interactive question-and-answer session followed, during which MES engineers discussed process optimisation, rebar standards, testing protocols and potential avenues for future collaboration. The delegation then took part in a guided factory walkthrough, observing key stages of production including billet handling, reheating, rolling, cooling and automated testing processes.
After the plant visit, the MES team visited Elite Steel's corporate headquarters at Gulshan Avenue in Dhaka, where senior management held discussions on national infrastructure requirements, product innovation and the role of private-sector manufacturers in supporting development initiatives.
The visit concluded with a closing session in which the MES delegation presented a token of appreciation to the managing director of Elite Steel, acknowledging the company's contribution to the country's industrial and infrastructure sectors.
