EBL employees share their exciting experience of Mera Peak

Under Eastern Bank's "Beyond Limits: EBL Conquering Mera Peak," five bank employees conquered the Mera Peak mountain in Nepal.
They ascended the mountain peak (6,476 meters above sea level) on April 17.
To commemorate this exceptional feat, EBL hosted a "Celebration Program and Press Conference" at its headquarters in Dhaka today. Members of the expedition team shared their exciting experience of a challenging 20-day journey through treacherous terrain and extreme weather.
EBL Managing Director and CEO Ali Reza Iftekhar, along with other members of the Management Committee (MANCOM), congratulated the climbers and handed over tokens of appreciation.
Speaking on the occasion, the EBL Managing Director said, "This expedition is a shining example of what we at EBL stand for—vision, courage, and pushing the boundaries of possibility. We are proud of our colleagues who have shown the world that EBL climbs financial peaks and the highest natural ones."
The team began their expedition on April 5, 2025. Before the expedition, Team EBL underwent rigorous physical and mental training to prepare for the anticipated extreme weather conditions and challenging journey.
EBL sponsored the expedition as part of its ongoing commitment to employee engagement, personal development, and promoting a resilient and dynamic corporate culture. The adventure reflects EBL's core values of leadership, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence.
The expedition's title was "Beyond Limits: EBL Conquering Mera Peak." Its aim was to encourage employees to challenge themselves physically and mentally while upholding the organisation's spirit of continuous growth and excellence.
